Finance Director - Cape Verde - RJB/3517

Our client is developing a extensive resort development situated off the West Coast of Africa. The resort comprises a number of hotel developments (three in the first phase), golf courses (one 18 hole and one 9 hole), 1588 apartments, 300 serviced properties near a planned sports, leisure and country club and 575 villas and 322 town houses located in various areas around the resort. The resort will be operated as a fully integrated entity with a number of key features: - An environmentally considerate development, which seeks as far as possible to eliminate carbon, waste and provide a clean environment (for example by the absence of conventional private cars from the entire resort). - Constructed with high quality materials and equipment to facilitate an energy efficient environment. - Aspiring to provide first class accommodation and leisure facilities consistent with the highest international standards in the world. Whilst it is the general strategy to outsource and franchise as many of the components as is feasible in keeping with the resort brand identity, strict attention has been paid to the quality control aspects. Each component needs to be profitable and/or cost effective but there is an over-arching consideration of the brand-fit of each operation. We now are seeking a very experienced Finance Director with pre-opening experience from a Villa Rental/ Hotel/ Golfing background to head up and manage this function through to its inception, bringing all of the components together in a cohesive manner to ensure that there is minimum delay in the total schedule liasing with all of the different parties involved. A near fluency in the Portuguese language is desired as is the ability to manage a multi-cultural workforce.
